How the Calculator Works Offline

TintMix bundles all coverage tables and colorant data inside the app. SwiftData keeps your projects, swatches, and formulas stored locally—no cloud sync, no login.

The Surface Wizard walks you through each wall, door, window, and trim piece. You enter dimensions in meters, mark openings, and the app calculates net paintable area per surface type. Coverage rates adjust based on sheen selection: semi-gloss, satin, or eggshell each have different spread rates per liter.

Can Estimator takes your total square meters, applies your chosen number of coats and waste percentage, then runs optimization logic. It compares all enabled can sizes and shows you two combinations: one that minimizes leftover paint, and one that minimizes total cost if you entered prices.

Recipe Lab uses a bundled colorant database to find the nearest base-plus-drops formula when you sample a color from a photo. The ΔE score tells you how close the match is. You can adjust the base paint code and scale the drops up or down for different tin sizes, and the app warns you if the total drops exceed tint capacity.
